Obituary

Mr. Kenneth L. Christol, 62, of Rocky Face, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2010, at Hamilton Medical Center surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was the son of the late Jack and Sylvia Dodson Christol and was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Virginia P. James.Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Army, 101st Airborne, having served in Vietnam and was a Purple Heart and Silver Star recipient. He was an active leader of the Boy Scouts, having earned a doctorate in Boy Scouts and was a youth coach in both football and baseball.Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Colleen James Christol of Rocky Face; sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory S. Christol and his fiancée, Annie Fuller of Chattanooga, Michael Shane Christol of Rocky Face, Steve and Penny Christol of Savannah; daughter, Stacy Christol of Alabama; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Judy Christol of Owensboro, Ky.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gloria and James Kennedy of Cohutta; his beloved pet Lucy; nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Raper officiating.Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.The family asks that flowers be omited and memorials be made to Colleen Christol, 2607 Valley View Drive, Rocky Face, GA 30740.Words of comfort may be sent to the family at www.lovefuneralhomega.com.
